Petros Karadjias, AP Photographer based in Nicosia, Cyprus will speak to the students of the University of Western Attica, Department of Photography and Audiovisual Arts.
The title of his presentation will be “The modern photojournalism.” He’ll explain how he handled coverage of various stories, for both photos and video formats together.
Exhibition of Teenage Photographers: As part of the Athens Photo World (7/6 - 16/6/2019) the Stavros Niarchos Foundation supports teenage photographers.
Athens Photo World would like to thank the 17 teenage students from the Anavryta High
School, the Model Lyceum of Anavryta, the 3 rd General High School of Glyfada, the 39 th
General High School of Athens, the 1 st Lyceum of Neo Psychiko, the 1 st Professional High
School of Ymittos and the 1 st General High School of Ymittos, for their photographic work.
Under the guidance of Dora Lavazou, Dora IFocus and IFocus.gr they photographed the
neighbourhood, the city and everything that drew their attention in shaping the mosaic of
the city with the fresh look of its new generation.
The project was carried out with their own photographic equipment and cameras provided
by the Stavros Niarchos Foundation, as well as the important mediation of Ms. Lavazou.
Their 40 photos in total will be presented at the iFocus Gallery, at Academias and
Ippokratous street within the Opera arcade.
At the same time, the exhibition will be complemented by a collection of photographs from
the Experimental Lyceum of Agioi Anargyroi, the 8 th Middle School of Chalandri with High
School Classes and by schools of the Greek periphery, which will be digitally projected.

On Tuesday 11/6/2019 at 18.00, the APW artistic director Thanassis Stavrakis and
photographer Orestis Seferoglou will speak with the teenagers and answer their questions.
Athens Photo World and Stavros Niarchos Foundation, wishing to reward the young
participants, will donate the photos of the Associated Press exhibition “Daily Life around the
world” to their schools to decorate their premises.
